Statement Of Faith

v     The Godhead.
We believe in the one true God, who has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent I AM, existing in three persons, The Father, The Son – Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. These three are distinguishable, but indivisible in essence; co-eternal, co-existent, co-equal in nature, attributes, power and glory (2 Cor. 13-14, Matt, 28:19, John 14:26, 1 Peter 1:2).

v      The Scriptures Inspired.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God; a revelation from God to mankind. It is the infallible rule of faith and conduct and as such is above conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Thess. 2:13).

v      Original Sin and Fallen man.
Man was created good and upright, for God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”. The first man, Adam, through disobedience fell from the position God had intended for mankind and thus sin and death entered into the world. Adam's transgression incurred not only death for all, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. The resultant depravity of sinful human nature necessitates salvation and redemption from the power of sin, which can only be provided through a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ ( Genesis 1:26 -31, 2:17, 3:6-24, Romans 5:12-21).

v      The Salvation of Man.
Mankind's only hope of redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:8-12, Romans 5:8-21, Romans 10:9-10). Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; it is the gift of God and not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:7-9). The evidence to the new believer of salvation is the inward witness of the Holy Spirit, The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16).

v     The Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18). In His love for lost humanity He voluntarily gave His life on the cross, a once off sacrifice for sins for ever (John 10:17-18, Hebrews 10:1-12). His death was therefore substitutionary, the just for the unjust, and thereby He became the Saviour of the World (John 2:1-2). We believe that He rose from the dead, appeared to many in the flesh (John 20:16-31) and that when He departed the earth, He ascended into heaven where He remains at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us (Romans 8:34).

v     The Holy Spirit.
(a) The Fruit of the Holy Spirit
The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is evidenced by: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
(b) The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The power of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers, The Holy Spirit is manifested through spiritual gifts: To one the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, another faith, to another the gifts of healing, another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, another discerning of spirits, to another the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues and to still another the interpretation of tongues. The Holy Spirit also is the source of power for life, our service in ministry and our teacher. (1 Cor. 12:1-12, Luke 12:12, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-47, Is 53:4, Matt. 18:16-17).

v      Ordinances of the Church.
(a) Baptism in Water
The ordinance of baptism is the symbolic identification of the believer with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matt. 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4).
(b) The Lord's Supper or Holy Communion
The Lord's Supper comprises the elements: The bread and the fruit of the vine. It is the expression of our partaking of the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter1:4) and a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Cor. 11:26) enjoined on all believers until He comes!

v     The Church
The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her Great Commission. His intent being that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. All believers are born of the Holy Spirit and belong to the general assembly and Church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22, 3:10, Hebrews 12:23).

v     The Second Coming of Christ.
Jesus Christ will return to the earth in the clouds in the same manner as He departed. (Acts 1:11).

v      Final Judgment.
There will be a final judgment in which the dead will be raised and all will be judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Matt. 25:46, Hebrews 9:27, Rev. 19:20, Rev. 20:10-15, Rev.21:1-27).

v      The New Heaven and the New Earth.
In keeping with His promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13, Rev. 21:1-27).
